Explore Your Creativity With Me
Body Painting Transformation
Within a sensual and powerfully vulnerable container, we gather to witness one another in a creative exploration of the body through painting and photography. Event activities include both painting and being painted, stimulating conversation, and lots of laughter. This event may also include: Music/Kirtan/Drumming – Dancing – Hiking – Potluck style dinners and barbecues – Yoga & Meditation.
With these events we create a container to open the canvas of creativity and explore the human form. Learning the difference between objectification and adoration/worship of the body, we step powerfully into the seat of vulnerability. Exploring the sheath of the Annamaya Kosha, our physical body, we become more authentic with our thoughts and feelings. This level of vulnerability opens space for meaningful discussions about our conditioning and how these stories hold us hostage. We begin to sense that we are limitless, and become ready to explore what awaits us in the other Koshas.
Mantra & Movement Immersion
An exploration of vocals & movement and traversing the senses. Deep listening to the body and moving the way it feels called to move. Activities may include Toning, Kirtan, Improvisational and Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Dragon DanSing or Ecstatic/Contact Improvisation Dance. Dragon DanSing is a Harmonic Convergence of Creativity, offering the opportunity to explore and experiment with a variety of vocal, movement and instrumental possibilities. All are encouraged to listen deeply inside & out while participating freely in New, Novel and NON-conversational, Spontaneous and Improvisational, freeform styles of creative expression.
We’ve all experienced the emotionally transformational effects of movement, yet it’s easy to forget how much power movement has in shifting our attitude. Moving our bodies is an easy way to shift our emotional energy. We can mindfully and creatively calm strong emotions and relieve the physical pain associated with them.
With these events we create a container for the safe physical expression of our thoughts and emotions. Learning, connecting, and exploring the Manomaya Kosha (mind/emotions) and the Vijnanamaya Kosha (thoughts/intellect) releases turbulence from our bodies.
Community Kirtan
A community kirtan is a sacred musical gathering rooted in the tradition of Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of devotion. Kirtan is an ancient practice from India that involves call-and-response chanting of sacred mantras and devotional songs. In a community kirtan, people come together to create a collective experience of heartfelt singing, accompanied by musical instruments such as harmonium, drums, and cymbals.
The atmosphere is filled with joy, love, and a sense of unity as participants immerse themselves in the uplifting melodies and repetitive chants. Community kirtans are open to people of all backgrounds and beliefs, and they provide a space for connection, spiritual exploration, and celebration. Through the power of music and collective voice, a community kirtan creates a vibrant and inclusive environment where individuals can express their devotion, find inner peace, and connect with others on a deeper level.
